How to Find a Therapist


There are probably already people in your life who may be able to give you recommendations for therapists.

Start with:
Your pediatrician - Pediatricians may have a referral list of individual therapists who are experienced in working with teens.


Your School Counselor/Guidance Counselor - Usually counselors in a school know of local resources that can be helpful, including local individual therapists.


Your Insurance Company - this is a great place to start if you want to make sure that there aren’t any insurance issues.


Other places to check:
goodtherapy.com - This is a great place to start looking, and reach out to people who seem like they might be a good fit.


betterhelp.com - If you’re 13 to 19, this is a place where you can see a therapist online. You can sign up for therapy with parental permission through this site, and you can message your therapist or schedule chat, phone, or video meetings with a therapist.
