The Family Resilience Speaker Series

It's hard to watch your children struggle with challenges. You want to help them, but you're unsure what to do, what will work, or how to teach them strategies to get through the tough times.

What do you do when your children are struggling?

When my kids struggle with challenges, I reach out to my support system.

Even though I'm in the field, I love to hear different perspectives and gather ideas that can help me support my children. I still remember chatting with my dear friend Mary Lou, who talked me through some challenging moments with my family; her pearls of wisdom have stayed with me.

Sometimes, when families come to me for individual therapy for their child, they feel desperate because things aren't going well at school, home, or everywhere. They're in survival mode. They need help, strategies, and ideas to overcome those challenging moments of big feelings and meltdowns.

And they are reaching out for support.

When I start working with families, I aim to become part of their support network and give them ideas and encouragement. In ideal situations, we collaborate as a team, working not only with each other but also with the other helpers in their lives, like school counselors, pediatricians, and other related service professionals.

You might also be in the same situation—needing support, ideas, and strategies to help your family not just survive but thrive. You want to expand your support system.

To help you, I've created a Speaker Series. It's called:

The Family Resilience Speaker Series:

Building Skills to Help Your Children Thrive

I've interviewed several experts in the field to share their expertise in helping our families build resilience. I've created presentations with guest experts before, but it's usually just one interview at a time. This time, an entire week of interviews is available to share strategies, ideas, and encouragement with you.

The Series will be hosted in my community, the Coping Skills Hub.

It will run from Monday, March 31, 2025, to Friday, April 4th, and will feature the following interviews:

Helping Kids with BIG Emotions

Dr. Chinwé Williams

The Power of Yoga and Movement Strategies

Giselle Shardlow, M.Ed.

Play is the Therapy

Jackie Flynn, EdS, LMHC-S, RPT-S

How K-Dramas Can Transform Your Life

Jeanie Y. Chang, LMFT, CCTP

Sensational Sensory Strategies

Melissa Feldman, OT

A new interview will be available every day.

You can watch it for free for 48 hours

After that, the interview will be available in the Hub subscriber area.
